This is a beautifully illustrated book with such a quirky text that it must entertain even the most active, fidgety child. Children who love reading are bound to love it. I have read it to, and with, my children (aged 5 and 7) many times, though we have only had it for a week. It's the kind of book which, on the one hand, you'd want to urge your children to read again and again and, on the other, not to rub chocolate fingers into so that it stays beautiful. It is also quirky and fun. The children and I had a big discussion about what apples and oranges have in common and then they were delighted to discover that the answer was "they both don't wear glasses" which is obviously true but not at all what they were expecting! My 5-year old taught himself to read the word "armadillo" so that he didn't lose his turn of reading the question page out loud. (Armadillos don't work in dentists' offices, in case you were worried!) All in all, I recommend it highly for a very fun reading-with-your-children session and loads of discussion during and after. I also recommend it as a beautiful present for anyone - from new babies to grandparents!
