5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book of Hans-Jurgen Dopp
Very unique work on this theme. Excellent illustrated. The author is not loudly known but the series of his works on the erotism is very talking.

I was persuaded to buy this book by the previous reviewer. This book was to be bought as a present for a friend however this book was not full of artful images of erotic shoes and legs. Most of the images aren't erotic but are very graphic with clear and rather horrible looking private parts on display! Most of the feet/shoes in the "art" in this book are there just because they happen to be on the end of the body - they are not there as the main focus of the image. There is even one image which has no feet in it at all but has a naked lady grabbing the upright and rather larger than life exposed private parts of a man - I can't be more specific but I hope you get the idea! This book was a real dissapointment. I had hoped for burlesque style art in this book. I'm no prude and I'm a big fan of burlesque but the art contained herein was just lewd, not erotic in any way and some of the "artworks" have no obvious reason as to why they have even been included as the feet certainly aren't a focal point in them. I certainly won't be giving this book to my friend. I have asked the seller if I can return it which is not something I usually do but this book isn't going to be sitting on my bookshelf! I'm not sure who would want this book but I suspect it's certainly very, very niche even in the fetish crowd!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superbly Illustrated Essay On Clothing Fetishism, 17 July 2010

This review is from: Feet-Ishism (Reveries) (Hardcover)
This is one of a series of medium-length essays written by Döpp and later published by Parkstone in larger format under the title 'Erotic Fantasy' (2006). Each essay is copiously (and gloriously) illustrated in excellent colour with examples of art intended to compliment the subject matter, and it is mostly these illustrations which accompany the essays in the synoptic work. 'Feet-ishism' is something of an exception, in that the individual volume is much more profusely provided - delightfully so - than the collection. It thus becomes a beautiful and charming little gem of an art book, dedicated to considering broadly specified aspects of fetishism, focussed mainly around women's clothing, including its donning and doffing. Shoe fetishism maintains pride of place, as would be expected. An excellent small volume, beautiful in its portrayal of the various aspects of love and concentrating on the erotic symbolism of clothing.
