5.0 out of 5 stars Pop-up book for adults (& kids)
This book is nothing short of genius, it is a genuine work of art that I regularly pick up and am enthralled by. The premise is simple each turn of the page shows, in pop-up form, the growth and expansion of a city. However simple that premise may be though nothing can take away how magnificently and well executed the pop-up mechanisms work, it is truly a work of art. The...

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop-up book for adults (& kids), 4 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Popville (Hardcover)
This book is nothing short of genius, it is a genuine work of art that I regularly pick up and am enthralled by. The premise is simple each turn of the page shows, in pop-up form, the growth and expansion of a city. However simple that premise may be though nothing can take away how magnificently and well executed the pop-up mechanisms work, it is truly a work of art. The French are leading the way in terms of modern pop-up books, as far as I am aware, and there are many others out there similar to this one for other fans grown-ups or kids to seek out. See:

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 4 Mar. 2012
This review is from: Popville (Hardcover)
Really, really clever, and really thin compared to most given the amount that's inside. As a concept it's fantastic and as a pop up book it's excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars beautifully made but a bit boring, 31 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Popville (Hardcover)
i love pop-up books - the more detailed and intricate the better. this is a lovely book, the mechanics are brilliant but it's actually rather a dull book for a child. there is no story as such, just a small village growing to a large city over about 5 pages. my son looked thru it once in about 2 minutes. so it's on my bookshelf now.

think there may be more interesting pop-up books for kids out there.
