Don't think that you'll read this in a few sittings. Each chapter is thought- provoking and you will want to ponder and digest. The assumptions that drove western culture from the rebellious sixties have become the accepted wisdom of the present. By the law of unintended consequences the big state is no longer answerable to individuals, individual freedoms that have been hard fought for are now routinely overridden by group interests. This is a cri de coeur from one who has travelled the distance, on the edge of the cultural wave as a writer, who now finds the destination a sinister place. Read it and be provoked into some thinking of your own.
