This review is from: Programming Role Playing Games with DirectX (Game Development Series) (Paperback)
I love programming and I love RPG games, so I was very excited when i first got this book..
It's very good in the beginning, you learn everything from the basics of DirectX, setting up the enviorenment etc.
But when you try to compile the examples they fail... bad... ive tryed for quite some time and see if i could make it work, but when ive fixed one bug, another one comes up... extreamly anoying.. and the worst thing is that the large and heavily descriped Game Engine also dont work...

After i found out this, the book got right back in the drawer.. but after i've got more experiance with DirectX, and programming overall i tryed looking into this again... and there is lot's of stuff I can use in my projects.. both ideas, and snitches of codes that works...

So overall I'm still glad that i bought this book... the more experianced a programmer i get, the more i can use the book as a reference of ideas on RPG and ways to deal with different programming issues..

But GOD was i anoyed when it didn't do me anything good when i first bought it, so it really depends on your knowledge of programming if this book will be really bad, or Okay++...
