I have not done this before and I found the instructions very clear. It has a hard back cover slightly wider than the rest of the book, spiral bound so it will lay flat and a clear zip pocket with threads in plus a clip to attach your work to the back of the book while having the instructions next to you. What a lovely idea.

It would make a lovely present for any crafty person. The patterns are so pretty and the braiding doesn't have to be for bracelets only - the ideas are endless. Well done to Laura Torres for a lovely idea.

I have bought several Klutz products for my children and as presents and they have all been great. I bought this one for my 8 year old daughter and she was delighted with it. She was able to follow the instructions herself and has already successfully made the easiest of the bracelets.

Great book, step by step clear instructions and comes with enough thread, so the book says, to make 12 bracelets, including one with beads. There's also a clip to hold your bracelet in place, and you can use the book as a board to work on. Once you've got the hang of the knotting, it's a doddle, and you are only limited by your imagination. I would say that the thread provided can be a little awkward to undo if you go wrong, and to counteract this I've been using wax cotton cord which I find a bit more sturdy. This also seems to bring out the pattern a little better. Enjoy!

The instructions were so clear I was able to do the most complicated bracelet in the book only knowing the basics. They make the difficult steps easier and more fun. The layout was also pretty cool.

This has been bought for a birthday gift for a 10 year-old so I haven't actually tried any of the designs, but here is my review of the appearance of the book.

The book is just great with 10 designs from basic to more complicated designs (a guide to the level of difficulty would be handy although some designs, but not all, do comment on this). There are 10 skeins of thread, a pack of beads and a clip which allows you to clip the bracelet to the side of the book so you can read the instructions while making the bracelets quite easily. These are all contained in a resealable case which is attached to the spine of the book so no loose bits and pieces (hoorah!).

Perfect gift for any girl aged 8 - probably about 13, possibly older(boys are shown in some photos inside so if they feel the inclination they won't feel its exclusively for girls)

I'm 27, married with two kids and last summer i decided i wanted a new hobby, so i purchased this book. i now make all sorts of things with embroidery floss and couldn't give up if i tried. this book gave me as good understanding of all the basic knots needed to create beautiful bracelets. once i had that down i found a site that has different patterns and went from there. all the pictures are very clear and the written instructions are excellent. i love that it comes with cotton and a handy clip to secure your bracelets whilst knotting them. i would recommend this book to all ages and it would make a fantastic present for anyone or for someone looking for something to keep them occupied.

My 10year old daughter got this as a Christmas present and it is fantastic. It has been very well thought out as your other reviewers have said-the instructions are very easy to follow. She loves making the bracelets so much she is making one for everyone in her class! We have had to buy more threads and I have to admit I am getting a bit addicted too! I am going to snap some up at this price for birthday presents.

Easy to understand and produces great results (once you get the hang of it of course!). I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wishes to start creating their own bracelets, kids and adults alike! The thread comes in a variety of colours and there's plenty to keep you going while you practice. The clip board is extremely handy too! Well worth it!

At six years old, my daughter has reached the age when she often receives craft-kit type gifts. Some are good, some are bad. I actually chose this for something to do over half-term, and it's FAB.

Pro's: First, at the price, I figured it wasn't a big loss if she didn't take to it. Second, it's not messy! (yay!) Lastly, it's a good basic, easy to read guide. After about a half hour of me sitting down and walking her through the beginning, she understood and could do the basics on her own.

I made tons of these when I was a girl, so while I could teach her on my own or a YouTube video, it's definitely nice to have for her quick reference. It comes with plenty of colours of starter thread and the clip on the end of the book is nice for working with it and keeping everything together. She's had it for two days now, and already it's kept her completely absorbed while at a restaurant and going along for several errands. She's still asking for help from time to time - she looses track of the pattern but it only takes a minute or two for me to undo it and she's soon back on her way. It builds on the basic technique and has directions for several really neat styles.

Con's: I'm kinda want to take it from her and play with it myself.
