5.0 out of 5 stars A classic text, 19 Dec. 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Troubleshooting Oracle Performance (Expert's Voice in Oracle) (Hardcover)
This book is an entertaining, educational, and practical text that, surprisingly, is suitable for developers and DBAs of all levels. Like that other great book Optimizing Oracle Performance there is a theme about using a methodical approach. However, this book contains lots more technical information and is bang up-to-date with information on all recent releases of Oracle including 11gR1. I bought it in hardback and am very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars A readable computing book? What's going on?, 11 Nov. 2010

This review is from: Troubleshooting Oracle Performance (Expert's Voice in Oracle) (Hardcover)
Something's wrong here...a clearly written guide on performance tuning in the Oracle database? Tick. Good, to-the-point, easy to follow examples? Tick. Author clearly communicates his ideas? Tick. Covers lots of ground, from EXPLAIN PLAN and TkProf through statistics, common traps, solutions? Yup, tick.

Highly recommended.
