This review is from: Logos of Herclitus (Paperback)
this is a random plethora (you know, pléthóré) of half-way theories about heraclitus

there is no one point to brann's reading, random ideas stir back and fourth. is there a pythagorean musical dissonance in heraclitus? (yes, sometimes) does aristotle misunderstand heraclitus? (yes, most of the time) was heraclitus a physicist? (maybe, but if so, also a mystic like newton). these theories and speculations are tossed about without notes and without following through to craft a cohesive theory of heraclitus. in the end, this is a dissatisfying book, and I regret the 10 i paid for it.

what to get instead:
The Art and Thought of Heraclitus: A New Arrangement and Translation of the Fragments with Literary and Philosophical Commentary by Heraclitus and Charles H. Kahn <-- Absolutely great
The Presocratic Philosophers: A Critical History with a Selection of Texts by G. S. Kirk, J. E. Raven and M. Schofield <-- good but slow-going
THE PRE-SOCRATICS: A COLLECTION OF CRITICAL ESSAYS. by Alexander P. D. (Editor). Mourelatos (Paperback - 1974) <-- also good

what NOT to get:
Remembering Heraclitus <-- Anachronistic reading
Fragments (Penguin Classics) by James Hillman, Heraclitus and Brooks Haxton <-- Mistranslations
