This review is from: Gloom Unwelcome Guests Card Game (Toy)
This is the second Gloom expansion. If you're thinking of buying it without buying the first, be aware that you'll get a 'residence' card that will make no sense to you - it's really best to get these sets in order.

This is overall my favourite expansion, because it adds the frequently hilarious feature of... (you guessed!) Unwelcome Guests!
These are various freeloaders like the Poor Relations, the Woeful Widow, Whiskers (a stray cat), a Loathsome Uncle, and a Meddling Kid.

As various conditions are met, the guests attach themselves to a family. For example, the Poor Relations will follow the money symbol from family to family.

In addition to another generous helping of events, modifiers, and deaths, this set also includes a new family - a bunch of Gangsters.

A new feature is also added - Persistent effects, which allow a modifier card's effects to continue affecting the player, even when they're covered by subsequent modifiers. I can't say I loved this feature, because in practice it's too easy to forget about an effect once it's been covered up.

But overall, I think this is my favourite expansion. Definitely recommended!

Oh, and an important PS:
There is nothing on the cards to indicate that this is an expansion set. If you mix them in with your basic cards, you'll never be able to tell which are which if you later want to separate them.
My personal solution to this was to use an indelible marker to put a small dot on each card of the first expansions set, two dots for this one, and so on for future sets.
