4.0 out of 5 stars The walkin' dude before he was famous
This is a must have for all Stephen King fans.

Anyone who's read The Stand or Dark Tower series will be more than familiar with The Dark Man in question, and this poem is a great introduction to who is still one of the creepiest villains in modern fiction.

2.0 out of 5 stars Old Rope
It's a reasonably well-produced book and, I suppose, a nice item for Stephen King completists to own, but considering it's been given its own release (and, according to the copyright, 44 years after it was written), I was expecting a lot more. I was expecting an epic poem, when what this is, is five short stanzas of maybe 200 words max, stretched across 60 pages...

This is a must have for all Stephen King fans.

Anyone who's read The Stand or Dark Tower series will be more than familiar with The Dark Man in question, and this poem is a great introduction to who is still one of the creepiest villains in modern fiction.

The artwork is fantastic. The style and imagery matches the mood of the poem perfectly, with great amounts of detail with a real haunting atmosphere.

A blast from the past (1969 to be precise) and a great read. The poem itself is wonderful as it is mysterious.

I wouldn't recommend it if you haven't read the before mentioned books, and even then you might not get the most out of it if you're not particularly fussed about King's work.

Otherwise, a worthy addition to your collection.

I will definitely be re-reading this little beauty again and again.

I am intrigued by the copyright it states at the start of this little booklet. 1969... So this would be one of the first things he wrote and revisited 45 years later?

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Stephen King work, 13 Oct 2013

Exceptionally illustrated throughout with very dark and evocative drawings, this book is an awesome little poem! Comes wi illustrated poem as well as the poem without the illustrations. A nice introduction to the Dark Man of both 'Through The Eyes of the Dragon', 'The Stand' and 'The Dark Tower'.

Recommended for fans f those works, for long time Stephen King fans but not for those who have never read 'The Stand' or are new to messer Kings work.

It's a reasonably well-produced book and, I suppose, a nice item for Stephen King completists to own, but considering it's been given its own release (and, according to the copyright, 44 years after it was written), I was expecting a lot more. I was expecting an epic poem, when what this is, is five short stanzas of maybe 200 words max, stretched across 60 pages. Admittedly each page contains a (black and white) illustration - though they're hit and miss, quality-wise - but even so, this appears to be an exercise in money grubbing.

Don't order this if you are expecting a Stephen King novel. It is an illustrated poem. The illustrations are exceptional but the product overall is very expesnsive for what it is. First time I have ever returned anything by Stephen King!

5.0 out of 5 stars pleasantly surprised, 9 Mar 2014

I knew the book was in graphic form but didnt know it was a poem from 1969. On opening my package I was delighted to find it was work from even before The Stand was written. If you're looking to buy a typical Stephen King book this is not for you but for collectors its one for keeping.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Poem by Stephen King Why not, 11 Nov 2013

As a fanatic King-reader it seemed necessary to get even this into the shelves with all the others. Although it's very old and just an illustrated poem it carries with it the first recognition of Randall Flagg
