I thought this book was excellent. I read it in 4 days. It is the type of book you can read and not want to put down. Anyone who likes a storyline where you dont find out what is really going on till the end~this book is for you! read and enjoy, i did.

I can remember reading this book as a teenager in school and I loved it.
I recently re-read it and I still love it!

Missing follows Maxine and her family as they each in their own way try to come to terms with the disappearance of Derek, Maxine's big brother.
The family are slowly starting to rip apart and Maxine is feeling more and more left out as her parents ship her off to anyone who will have her to chase down the next lead.
When the news comes that a body has been found, and Maxine's father identifies it as Derek, Maxine starts to think things will finally pick up, now that they can all put Derek to rest.
But then she starts to receive strange phone calls from someone calling them self Derek!

I really enjoyed re-reading this book, I had totally forgot how great this book was! It is pretty short, and can easily be read in one sitting.

I really loved the suspense that was built up throughout the book, that itself kept me glued to the story for the whole day! I also really liked seeing how each of the different family members coped with both Derek's disappearance and then later his death. It is a great way of letting younger readers know that everyone reacts differently and finds their own ways of dealing with these types of situations.

To me, the ending of the book was brilliant and was completely worth getting caught up in all the drama and suspense in the book!

MAXINE REALLY HATES HER BROTHER LIKE MOST OF US, BUT WHEN HE GOES MISSING AND HAR FAMILY THINK DEREK IS DEAD SHE DOESN'T REALLY CARE. SADLY HER MUM AND DAD ARE IGNORING HER. THEY ARE TO BUSY SORTING OUT MAXINES BROTHER DEREKS THINGS. THEN ONE DAY MAXINE GATS A PHONE CALL AND THE VOICE SOUNDS LIKE DEREK, MAXINE THINKS IT IT IS SOMEONE PLAYING A PRANK ON HER BUT SHE COULDN'T THINK OF ANYONE WHO WAS SICK ENOUGH TO DO THIS... THIS BOOK IS GREAT AND IT IS SO LIFE LIKE, YOU NEED TO READ IT

THIS BOOK STARTED OFF WELL, AND THE USE OF LANGUAGE WAS WELL SELECTED, BUT TOWARDS THE END, THE STORYLINE DETERIORATED, AND WAS QUITE NON-FITTING AND SILLY, AND FRANKLY I THOUGHT NOT MUCH OF IT , AS THE STORY LINE LACKED REALISM.
