This review is from: The Sources of Taize (Paperback)
This short book has a large scope and purpose. It is the "source book" on which the common life of Taize is based.

The first part of the book contains a series of short teachings nad meditations that have at their center the presence of the risen Christ in the world, and the life that brings to those who are able to hear.

The book then goes on to explore spiritual practicalities of the common life, through e.g. teachings on prayer, mercy, simplicity, mission, and the role of the Prior.

There is then "the Life Committment," the words a brother speaks when making his lfe committment to Taize. They are clear, direct, and a summation of all that has gone before.

This is followed by the story of Taize, describing the inspiration of Brother Roger in founding the community, its simple beginnings and subsequent growth, and the centrality and importance of the involvement of young people in its mission.

In total, this book is a wonderful way to deeepen one's understanding of Taize and the powerful teachings that drive and sustain it.
