This book has a very nice clay figure on the cover!
Inside you might find one or two which are worthwhile looking at. In my opinion the rest is terrible kitsch.
You may be totally open to all kinds of modern sculpture, and very tolerant about provocative art. However, this amount of far fetched, overloaded, low-brow ugly figurines has shocked me.
I am very sorry, but I cannot keep this in my library. Tomorrow I will send it back to Amazon.

I bought this book as a gift for a friend - how I wish I had bought it for myself - high quality photographs demonstrate an exciting wealth of contemporary figures - highly inspiring I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in the arts!

I am an artist with a great love of any artistic inspiration in any form and the Lark books certainly fulfill this for me. I have never made anything in clay but I love this book. The photography is first class and the amazing content is well...just amazing. I have had this for many months now and every time I pick it up I see something I hadn't noticed before. Very highly recommended.

I have a book in this series on animals in clay and have also seen another on ceramic sculpture - both I found useful. This one however - albeit including a wide variety of styles - for the most part I found contained more of the grotesque. I know that appreciation of "art" is intensely subjective but I found little to enjoy in this book and little that was inspirational.

I bought this book 3 months ago and I've read it from cover to cover many times. It's full of different ideas for sculpting the human form. Beautifully photographed and well laid out. I love it. It's inspired me to experiment with different ideas for my ceramic sculptures.

If you like an arty book with lots of pictures then this book will delight you. It is packed full of figurative images of great variety. The text is minimal, precise and informative. Pick it up and open it at any page and there will be a visual surprise for you. If you are a jaded artist searching for inspiration, this book will refresh you and lead the way!

It is a good book - well laid out and presented but I personally, was a little disappointed with content as was hoping there would be more abstract / stylised forms as per the cover illustration. Contains lots of heads and busts also.

Good Condition. Arrived quickly, it was what it said it was, and will be very useful to me while I am studying.
