This is an excellent card game. It is a more exciting version of contract wist with a few rogue cards to spice up the game. Best played with at least 4 people, even more fun if some of them are good at cards as this really throws a spanner in at the crucial moment. The scoring makes the game very unpredictable and the leading hand can change quickly. As a family we have had many hilarious evenings playing this game.
We were lucky enough to get this card game as a present from a Canadian friend a couple of years ago. Great to take on holiday and to have Wizard evenings with friends. Warning - you get VERY competitve. I have purchased two games - one for some friends and a new set for us as ours are getting rather tatty!!!
my husband, my son who is 17 and myself love playing games of all types.you need a minimum of 3 peple to play, we played wizard for the first time today and really enjoyed it. the instructions are easy to follow and remember, you can play straight away. the game is more fun than whist with the addition of the wizard and jester cards and the scoring can really help or hinder your progress. my son said he would definitely play again, amazing for a teenager, and both my husband and myself look forward to playing again very soon. highly recomended!
This card game is probably the best family card game we have played and has replaced Skip-Bo for our number one spot. It challenges our bridge and whist players as the Wizards and Jesters throw a spanner in the works! Each round involves an additional card in the hand so it stops card counting and means that less experienced card players are able to play on a more even field compared to experienced ones. Excellent family game, great fun, all ages, well worth buying.
I have been brought up with this game throughout my childhood, I still love playing it with my family - it is our card game of choose, great fun! It does not take long to learn the rules but I like to feel there is a reasonable amount of skill involved too :)
Great game! Bought it after playing the came using normal cards, and the punctuation sheet and Wizard/Jester cards (that can be a bit confusing using normal cards). An amazing game to play with family or friends!
