This review is from: The ADHD Workbook for Kids: Helping Children Gain Self-Confidence, Social Skills, & Self-control (Instant Help Book for Parents & Kids) (Paperback)
This workbook was spot on for a dyslexic child I was teaching. It helps pupils to address common issues they may well have if they have ADD/ADHD in a way that allows them to say what they think and begin to address their problems. As an adult with ADD I felt that it would have been useful to me as a child too.

Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful.pracical,easy, 31 Dec 2012
This review is from: The ADHD Workbook for Kids: Helping Children Gain Self-Confidence, Social Skills, & Self-control (Instant Help Book for Parents & Kids) (Paperback)
This book was informative and helpful. It also has a lot of exercises to do which could be done, practically, in written form, or as part of a conversation about home or school life.
Some of the exercises maybe difficult for some kids depending on age but they can easily be adapted to each child and the exercises are about 10 minutes long,so this makes them easy to do.
The title of the book and the exercises lets us know that this book is about ADHD but one thing about the book which I found annoying was at the beginning of many activities. The author used one or two rather annoying phrases e:g, "Almost all kids with ADHD" "KIds with ADHD" "Many kids with ADHD" "Most kids with ADHD" constantly reinforces that it's your ADHD kid, and in my view is labelling. Many of these exercises could be done just as easily with kids who do NOT have ADHD. So I would prefer the author said something along the lines of "some kids," "Many kids," "a few kids," because some kids are just disorganised but do not have ADHD and just need to learn this skill. So the label really doesn't need to be used all the time.
Anyway, apart from that i found the book useful and practical and even if your kid DOESN'T have ADHD, you will certainly get some ideas for helping your kids at home and at school, and in someway help us become a better parent. I would recommend this book.
