5.0 out of 5 stars As a fan of the game, this is a fulfilling read..., 23 Mar 2000
I have to say I liked this last book in the trilogy even more than Rebel Agent, it's prequel. The illustratons are excellently done by Dave Dorman, and my only gripe is that a couple of them seemed not to be in the right order. The story for this book expands a great deal more on the plot within the game on which it is based. It gives precious insights into what drives the Dark Jedi, and sets a nice backdrop on the planet of Ruusan, where you find the Valley of the Jedi.
My only other gripe with this book were some of the names - they were too much *this* galaxy (Carole? Fido? I ask you...) Nevertheless, I can forgive these oversights, and welcome this book as a worthy addition to my (growing) collection.
So what are you waiting for...?

5.0 out of 5 stars PHAT, PHAT, PHAT!, 19 Dec 1998
By A Customer
Well its based on the award winning game jedi knight, whick won best game ever by several pc magazines. the book is fantastic too. Dave Dorman does an awsome job with the art, and its the only star wars book out their that really gets the feel of the star wars saga. Its deals with desteny, love, action and a bunch of other cool things, and if you don't have the game, buy right now. its action packed. It has live video cutsences and you get to play around with a lightsaber and a couple force powers. oh and theirs 2 endings to the game. of chorse that all depends on wether you choose to follow the light or dark side of the force.

4.0 out of 5 stars An improvement on the first two in the series, 16 Nov 1998
By A Customer
This book was enjoyable because it also included a brief glimpse of other main Star Wars characters. With prior knowledge from the first two stories, this work moved quite well, with an ending that left few loose ends. Kyle Katarn can be seen as another true Star Wars hero, and Dietz and Dorman combine to provide yet another excellent work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jedi Knight by William C. Dietz, 28 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
THE STORY:
The Jedi Knight Kyle Katarn must defeat the evil Dark Jedi Jerec and free the spirits within the Valley of the Jedi if he is to save the New Republic.
THE LIGHT SIDE:
A brilliant written adaption of a great game, this novella fills in all the gaps and has fantastic illustrations by renowned Star Wars artist Dave Dorman. My favourite part of the book was the Battle of Milagro, where we see Kyle and Jan in action alongside our heroes Luke, Han and Leia. And of course, there's no less than five lightsaber duels. And on top of that, there's a fair bit of background info on which the comic book series 'Jedi vs Sith' is based.
THE DARK SIDE:
Dietz's habit of taking minor characters and dedicating large amounts of text to them does slow the pace of the story a little in places.
THE CAMEOS:
Luke Skywalker. Leia Organa. Han Solo. Mon Mothma.
