5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing constructions using such simple rules, 7 Jan. 2015

This review is from: Origami Inspirations (Paperback)
No matter how many books I read on the subject of origami I remain impressed by the skill of people as they turn a flat sheet of paper into a complex three-dimensional shape. This book contains a series of detailed instructions on how to create some incredible shapes. There are color images of the final results and it would be hard not to be intimidated when looking at the finished product when you make your first fold.
The geometric rules of angles and side lengths are the basis for the precise folding needed to keep everything organized, so there is a great deal of underlying mathematics. However, the real point of the book is the creation of works of art, minimal knowledge of mathematics is needed in order to follow the instructions. Therefore, the book is unusual in that it could be used to equal effect in both math and art classes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Addition to the Art of Modular Origami, 9 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Origami Inspirations (Paperback)
Excellent ! This is a lovely high quality A4-sized book of 120 pages packed with great ideas for modular origami projects. The models range from simple to intermediate, with clear instructions and stunning photographs of the finished models. In addition there is a fair bit if technical explanation about how it all works. Most of the models are by the author, but there is also a section for guest folders, so you can some different styles at work.
