5.0 out of 5 stars The Dream King is Dead, Long Live the King!, 5 Sep 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: SANDMAN TP VOL 10 THE WAKE (Sandman Collected Library) (Paperback)
one of the best books i have ever read, the death of a Lord, the birth of a new king, the need for a change and a visit by a long-lost brother. Beautiful piece of art. Gaiman rules. long live Gaiman, long live the king.

4.0 out of 5 stars A perfect Characterisation, 30 Aug 2000
This review is from: SANDMAN TP VOL 10 THE WAKE (Sandman Collected Library) (Paperback)
One of the true judges of a character or myth is the effect of it's demise.
In the Wake, Gainman, along with some exquisite artists, tie up a character 9 years in the making with enough heartfelt longing to impress someone who hasn't even read the other Sandman books.
Though it does not stand well alone (hence the 4 stars) the wake - especially the three dealing exclusively with the death of Morpheus - is probably the most rounded of all the Sandman stories and ties up a lot of the lose ends. One for all.
Oh, and the intorduction by - forgottenhisnamedonothavethebooktohand -is the only one worth reading in all the series. Well done.
