3.0 out of 5 stars Hackers are not criminals!, 31 July 2000
By A Customer
I don't care how many people you may have heard or how many peoples books you may have read, hackers are not, I repeat NOT the people who you think they are. Crackers write viruses and destroy web sites. Hackers do not destroy, tamper with, or other wise illicit activitys. Hackers gather information. Phreakers tamper with phones.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amusingly anecdotal and a good entry level book., 5 Feb 2001

A US-centric approach to the phenomenon of all things hacking. While not a 'guide to hacking' there are some amusing and interesting anecdotes here. However, it has the feel of an 'airport novel' as it skims over many different areas. A good days reading but you will need to put flesh on the bones from other sources.
