Superb. A practical and honest insight in to the craft (rather than art) of film acting. Caine dispenses his wisdom liberally and one quickly begins to appreciate that professionalism and hard work are the key to any career. Caine has those qualities in spades - it is in fact his dedication to them that has also made him a great artist.

Ever wondered what Michael Caine gets up to when he's locked in his trailer for hours before going on set...?

A charming, witty, and surprisingly informative book.

Acting In Film is humorous, candid and informative not only to the aspiring actor, but to the film viewer as well.
Some important messages addressed are: Preparation, spontaneity, and behavior on and off the set.
Actin in Film gives valuable tools to any actor including those interested in Community Theater. A must have book for all movie buffs!

This book was great in giving advice, although specific for acting for film (if it is stage you are after, this book wouldn't be much help).
Caine provides valuable tips and tricks on the trade, from being an extra to being the number one star on set. He covers camera angles to continuity to manners! Perfect and worth the money if you are serious about being an actor/actress in film/television.

This book really covers all the aspects for those wanting to act on film or TV. What to do - and what to avoid. i originally borrowed it from a library but had to buy it as a guide to keep.

Just finished reading this book and I came on here to leave the review immediately. I have never done that before! Seriously, it's got most of the answers to questions I would ask an actor in movies. It's funny as well. Would recommend!! Michael Caine, as you would expect definitely knows what he is talking about!!!

I really did like this read. Interspersed with touches of his usual east end humour, Michael Caines' guide to acting is an invaluable pocket guide for the aspiring actor. Including a comprehensive filmography of his best and not so good films, this booklet covers a great deal.

Extremely valuable guidance if you want to get some tips from someone with more working knowledge of the business than almost anyone else around. Great advice. It's a slim volume so expensive for what it is, but if you're looking for help you'll find some nuggets of wisdom.

For someone who doesn't know a lot about film acting this book is a very helpful insight. Michael caine's approach towards acting is so down to earth and genuine. Its also really funny! I would recommend to anyone in the field, as its appropriate for any performer.

I do some acting and who, apart from the master of screen acting, has written a better book. No-one as far as I can tell. There are lots of lovely little vignettes that you can learn from. What more can you ask for ?
