A crystal book worth buying!
on 20 January 2010
I love this book and highly recommend both it and the earlier books by this author. His description of the role of crystals at this time is excellent. What a joy to find someone who is encouraging people to approach the subject in this way, rather than in the prescriptive, but very limited way, that has become popularised.
I have been blessed to work with crystals for over twenty years, and have taught many students at my school, The Cornwall School of Crystal Healing. In this time there has been a proliferation of books on the subject. Sadly, many of these are poor rewrites of earlier texts, with information often taken out of context, by authors with little true understanding or experience of the subject. Apart from being a waste of money, this is confusing for the student, and does not help the reputation of Crystal Healing.
For someone just beginning their journey with the crystals, I would recommend reading The Book of Stones, and working with some of the crystals described there, before moving on to those in this book.
I need to say that, personally, I have a challenge with the "rebranding" of certain minerals, and from that perspective I do have some reservations about this work. However, having said that, Robert Simmons message goes far beyond this and resonates deeply at a heart level, and I can not recommend this book too highly.
