This is a beautiful collection of poems written by a buddhist monk as he travelled on his own. The verses really capture the tragedy and beauty of life and reflect the authors deep seated beliefs. None of the poems are particularly long, so it's really easy to open the book on a random page and start reading a poem.
Overall, I felt there was a slightly mournful under current to the poems. However, they are mournful in a sort of uplifting way, in that they show life as it really is. Inspiring stuff, and certainly true to its title. Keep it on hand by the side of your bed for those times when you're lying awake thinking about life.
