5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Mental, 2 Aug 2013

Another classic set to the munchkin game, the dungeons add a nice twist to the game though it did result in a bit of chaos with trying to end the game. Our group of friends fight tooth and nail to prevent anyone from winning and this did add another twist to the battle.

4.0 out of 5 stars a new way of playing, 9 May 2013

This review is from: Munchkin Expansion 6: Demented Dungeons (Toy)
I first played munchkin many years ago at a party and had a great laugh, it was only a few short years ago I bought my own deck and picked the game up again with friends.

The main game is a classic and lots of fun on its own, but using this expansion really mixes the rules up. So you need the main game to play it (if you like, or at least get, the main fantasy tropes like lord of the rings and so on, it's worth it) and what you get with this expansion are 2 types of cards, "portal" cards (which are added into the door cards and treated like normal) and "dungeon" cards, which are oversized so they are easy to spot and use.

The game plays as normal, but each dungeon has it own rules and there is always at least 1 dungeon in play to alter and add to the basic rules. Whenever someone plays a portal card the dungeon is changed or added to, further mixing the rules up. This keeps everyone on their toes.

The usual level of humour is in here, the artwork is up to the usual style and hilarious standard and it fits in well with the deck.

The one issue I've had with it though is contrary to what another reviewer has said, they weren't getting the portal cards often enough to change the dungeons over, however when we played almost every second card it seemed was a portal card, meaning we ran through the dungeons a lot faster than we thought. So I'd suggest using a deck that's already been upgraded at least once (thats what we'll try next time I think) and shuffle it all up really well. Also its probably best for people who have played the game before and have a pretty good command of the rules as the added complexity of multiple dungeons can (and did) lead to some confusion.

Overall though, if you have the main game and want to do something a bit new with it, get this.
