Bought this having tried a few of Phil's receipes from a magazine article. Haven't got copies of the Seriously Good GF Cooking & Baking books so no duplication. Honestly some of the best GF baking I've done, friends didn't identify that results were GF. Credit to Phil Vickery for the time and effort he's put into these recipes, I'm excited about cooking cakes for myself for the first time in years.

Only disappointment was that the recipes are all given in cups rather than ounces or grams (although there are imperial conversions in brackets, some are really awkward amounts). I do have a set of cups, so not a major problem - but do hate measuring butter etc in cups!

Received this book yesterday, and I have read every recipe. No weird ingrediants that are hard to find, all available from large supermarkets, or easily found on the internet. I liked how Phil has given 3 basic mixes for the different flours that are used, so that they can be pre mixed and stored ready for use, instead of pulling out a selection of flour bags each time you want to bake. Unlike other cookery books, where I only use a small amount of the recipes, this book is 100% usable, I did not find one recipe that I did not want to bake. Highly recommend,

Bought this book under the impression it was a follow on from Seriously Good Gluten Free Baking as it has a completely different front cover design. Yes, there are a couple of new recipes but basically it is the same as the original just in paperback. Beware!

I failed to read the reviews before buying this book and thought it would contain additional recipies to those contained in Phil Vickery's other book on Gluten Free Baking. We were therefore surprised to find ingredients listed by their american (USA) names, some of which we new the equivalents, but some we did not, and weights and quantities american style, so your kitchen scales are probably going to be of no help whatsoever. We talked to our daughter who has the other book to find some recipies were for the same items but ingredients and weights converted. We find it annoying that given the reviews Amazon do not make it clear in their description that this is not a book intended for the UK market, unless you are an American living in the UK.

I think Phil Vickery is a fab chef but this book wasn't for me. There are 3 different flour recipies at the beginning which form part of every recipe but I couldn't find a couple of the ingredients in my area, so this has rendered the book pretty useless. Such a shame.

This is the American Version of this book, although there is nothing to say so in the description, either Amazon or the Marketplace seller. I did consider returning the book, but as I live outside the UK I thought that the cost of return postage made it uneconomic to return. I did ask the Marketplace seller what amount I would be refunded with, but he failed to reply.

The recipes are in Cups and Ounces when I have long since got used to grammes. For some reason, the author has decided to make up a mixture of flours for different types of baking, and tell you to be careful of use-by dates when making up the mixtures. This means that if the use-by date of one of the flours in the mixture is exceeded then the whole batch has to be thrown away.

I haven't actually tried any of the recipes yet, I have been busy trying to convert the flour mixtures to grammes so that I can make up a fresh mixture in sufficient quantity for one recipe. There are several appealing recipes in the book, to look forward to.
