Honest opinion (No spoilers)
on 20 July 2011
I read this book in two days (it's not long at all) and even though I really enjoyed it and it made me think a lot, it is not that well written. The beginning of the book is pretty good, but then the style changes around halfway in and it takes a weird turn. It feels a bit like the book has been rushed because the last half is missing the same capability of storytelling that it displays in the first half. Also the second half is at times almost reduced to presenting data like dates, people involved, geographical site and so on... The tension curve drops fully at few places and when all the deeper descriptions and so on are missing, it simply becomes slightly boring at times.
On the other hand I enjoyed the book and it made me travel back into my childhood a few times, which is not bad for a 180 page book. Also if you are a fan of Jens Pulver and do not know his story, you need to buy this book, because it's a hell of a story and I knew nothing of it before I started reading. That was a huge redeeming factor for me and I did enjoy the book and would buy it again.
