5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for anyone who trains self defence, 12 May 2014
Having bought this authors other two books, and having got a lot from them, I was looking forward to reading this one, and I’m glad to say it doesn’t disappoint.
The description says the book is about changing your approach to your self defence training so you can get better results and I think the book delivers on this, showing a number of ways that anyone can get better results from their self defence training.
The information in this book is obviously all based on the authors extensive training experience. Most of what he says makes a lot of sense. The chapter on pad training is excellent. It not only gives different drills, but shows how to make your own drills up based on correct principles.
It was also refreshing to read his views on self defence psychology and mental training, two areas I have always thought where overrated in terms of usefulness.
All in all this book is a must read for anyone who trains in self defence. It is full of useful advice that if followed, really will get you better results from your training, as it has mine already.
