This is a fascinating book if ever there was one. The fact that this a true story is amazing. How British, glamorous, professional sex worker Angela Nangle describes her three year ordeal at the mercy of Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (my American friends call it the IRS).
The juxtaposition of the colourful life of prostitution against the harsh, cold, grey culture of the tax collecting services makes for can't-put-book-down kind of reading!
Regina v Vagina takes the reader through every twist, turn, high jump and hoop of fire that the HMRC tried to put the author through. Angela Nangle conveys her journey through tax hell with a pathos and humor (not to mention the shockingly explicit truths of her profession, you have been warned!) that is both fascinating and frightening in equal measure.
I recommend this superb book to anyone, because....this story could happen to anyone.
