This is a key book in our European cultural history, full of enduring ideas and fascinating information about the backgrounds to legend and myth. The copy is a print-on-demand reprint - raw publication stuff, actually, not as awful as some, but really only just passable. By all means buy this if you can't fuind anything else: but honestly Jessie deserves better.

This was an interesting look at various myths and legends. I found the focus on grail legends to be really fascinating. As an in-depth look at various European myths, it can't be beat. I would recommend this, along with Frazer's The Golden Bough, to anyone interested in the hidden, magical side of various histories.
