Why is Stonehenge?

Jonathan Morris, a Chartered Engineer working in the field of inexpensive solar collection and distribution, never had any more than a passing interest in Salisbury's big pile of rocks stuck out in the middle of nowhere. He had developed a process by which radiant solar energy could be collected and distributed efficiently for the purposes of generating electricity. This new, low-cost process would be welcomed in many third-world areas where the expense of merely purifying drinking water is prohibitive.

While visiting the world-renown edifice of Stonehenge, Mr Morris was struck with an epiphany concerning similarities between the great stone structure and his Solar Collection design. Both are circular, both oriented to the Northeast, both contain four internal design components, and both demonstrate the movement of the Sun across the sky.
Returning home, Morris set about an intense study of the ancient construction, learning its history and presumed applications. Startlingly, it soon became apparent that the fabled, mystery-shrouded monument was an accurate representation of an earth-centric Universe.

With Solstice Alignment as the henge's Axis, the Station Stones, forming a nearly perfect rectangle, demonstrating the Sun's upper- and lowermost positions at its high and low orbit around Earth, represented by the Stone Circle itself. There are more than several other peculiarities in the design relating to global positioning, too numerous to mention. Sufficient here is the realization that there was clearly a concerted effort in the final design paradigm to incorporate the actual and metaphysical nature of the Cosmos, how it relates to Stonehenge, while defining its specific location as the Center of the Neolithic Universe.
The Cosmos is an enormous, in-facing sphere and every component within orbits a globular Earth.

Shown within the pages are the methods by which these essential facts are discovered. But while many startling parallels are exhaustively embedded, they are only half the story.

Employing technology exclusively available to deep-past inhabitants, Mr Morris designed and built an apparatus to demonstrate the very real power of the Sun, in addition to illustrating solar movement across the sky during three seasons of the year.
This involves a mast, a spar affixed to this mast, and a concave mirror attached to the lower end of the spar. Interestingly, it has been recently determined that tin was an available alloy at the time, and this then-coveted material can be polished to a significant percentage of reflection and easily employed in this thesis.
Wooden boards could be prepared with rows of 4-inch square tin mirrors and leaned against, first the outer Bluestone Circle in summer, then the inner Bluestone oval for winter.
As spar and mirror track the sun across the sky, reflected sunlight is collected by the concave mirror and is sharply focused to create a kind of mini-sun.

As has been recently confirmed by interpreting the 2012 Laser Scans, Stonehenge was intended to be viewed solely from the Avenue, and there is a great deal of evidence to support this. Able to accommodate large numbers of people within its sloping confines, it provides the perfect vantage point to witness this solar demonstration ― a demonstration that would have been indistinguishable from magic.

Written in six sections, this short book presents a theory that defines a knowledge base not determined by one peculiar micro-environment, but which illustrates a broad landscape of cultural understanding permeating not only the UK's entire southern region, but perhaps the entire Island and beyond.
The final section excerpts two chapters of Mr Morris' 2011 novel: 'The Broken Stone and the Secret of the Heaven's Henge', also available from Handow.

Handing us the 'Why' on a silver platter, Solving the Neolithic Universe is presented in an easily digestible form, with step-by-step explanations of every facet of the theme. Copiously illustrated with hand-renderings, in addition to clever CGI, Mr Morris guides the reader to their own epiphany in an extraordinarily cohesive explanation for the ultimate purpose of this ancient wonder.

This book is fantastic. It certainly provokes a healthy deabte on the origins of Stonehenge. Why not a TV programme.??

For far too long, traditional archeologists have obsessed about the remains of a few dead people found scattered around Stonehenge. Without contributing any great progress in understanding what living people had designed, built and used Stonehenge for. This is a great step forward. It should be essential reading for anyone interested in Megalithic Engineering and a highly skilled scientific culture that spread for thousands of miles along the western coast of Europe and across the Meditterranean sea.

The "Old People" who created Stonehenge did not have NASA to help them conceive their ideas. They wore leather buskins on their feet that were in contact with reality. They built Silbury Hill as the night time rest house for their deity Sun. The Sun illuminated mankind's earth from dawn, up overhead during the day, near dusk he descended below the western horizon. Then the deity travelled under mankind's earth, his light dimmed, the dusk. At the middle of the Otherworld he entered his home, closed the Otherworld door and his light was no more in mankind's earth. Silbury Hill was the bright yellow newly thatched roof of his home, the door and the walls were in the Otherworld. Near morning he opened the door of Silbury Hill and his light renewed he made his way to the eastern edge of the Otherworld. As he rose above the eastern horizon his light illuminated mankind's earth once again, a new day had begun. That is the real story of the Neolithic Universe about 2750 BC when Silbury Hill's construction began. The truncated conical structure was built in seven layers with a flat top. A century later the Pharaoh Djser Stepped Pyramid construction began as a truncated rectangular pyramid built in six layers. The ground level perimeter of 470 metres was the same as Silbury Hill. Both structures wer dedicated to the Sun.
