5.0 out of 5 stars great teacher's aid, 17 April 2013

This review is from: ESL Classroom Activities for Teens and Adults: ESL games, fluency activities and grammar drills for EFL and ESL students. (Paperback)
I have been teaching English for many years and have found Shelley's ideas very helpful. Sometimes I use them exactly as she suggests and other times I adapt them for the individual group. It seems expensive for such a slimline book but can be used again and again in many different groups.

5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable resource for teaching ESL to both teens and adults. Lots of value at an affordable price., 20 July 2014
This review is from: ESL Classroom Activities for Teens and Adults: ESL games, fluency activities and grammar drills for EFL and ESL students. (Paperback)
These ESL activities incorporate a huge variety of games that capture the imagination and engage learners in a format that is both familiar to them and loads of fun. Everyone processes language differently, of course, but the author has included insightful tips regarding how to apply ESL tools based on gender, culture, and unique individual differences in learning style. On a practical level, the table of contents is detailed and enables fast navigation through all 175 activities. The author also provides useful tips for those who want to print out hard copies, including advice on how to use 20% less ink. With printer ink prices so high that is a thoughtful addition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners and intermediate students, 7 Aug 2013

Very good ideas for beginners and intermediate students but I was looking for more challenging activities to do with Baccalauréat students. Many of the games are based on vocabulary, not syntax.
