3.0 out of 5 stars An inspiring read for teenagers
I read this book having seen a viral advert with Misty Copeland "I Will what I Want". She brings an excitement and buzz to ballet. Amazing clip!

I read this book having seen a viral advert with Misty Copeland "I Will what I Want". She brings an excitement and buzz to ballet. Amazing clip!
Her book is a simple , thoughtful read. Sometimes sad, sometimes vulnerable - she comes across as a real life , credible woman with an inspiring story for young achievers , be it dance or other . As she says "this is for all the little brown girls " she will be an amazing mentor to many of them .
Can't help but notice the bitterness she has towards elite white establishment in ballet. That saddens the reader as this is an art form that should transcend skin colour. But then shouldn't all areas of life .

3.0 out of 5 stars Life in Motion, 20 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was really looking forward to reading this book, because I follow her career with interest, but sadly the book fell short, not on her part I might add, but more so because the publishers were more interested in making a quick buck, instead of offering advice in the way it was written. It continually jumped about, and didn't follow any narrative, which was a shame. As I am a follower of ballet, it was a little disappointing, but it was a very admirable effort by Misty Copeland to get her point of view across, and the difficulties and bias she faced in doing so.
