5.0 out of 5 stars essential for all A2 Latin students, 18 May 2014
This review is from: Ovid Unseens: Practice Passages for Latin Verse Translation and Comprehension (Paperback)
A brilliant textbook for those new to translating Ovid's poetry as well as gnarled veterans. A great discussion of his style--syntax and word order are covered with real aplomb, provoking interest and offering exemplar analysis; a superbly thought out and useful list of the 450 most common Ovidian words; useful modus operandi for those new to scansion and some nice practice examples (with answers provided at the back). The book can be used whether Elegiacs or Hexameters are on the examination menu. My students and I will be using this for a long time to come (assuming the syllabus is not tampered with in the near future!) Who's going to do one of these for the Prose paper?

I bought the cheapest Trix purse, to leave in the glove compartment, stuffed with change for car parking. The purse squashes up small, so can be pushed in a corner out of the way. When driving in town I know I am well stocked with change, and it is ready to hand, without having to go ferritting in my handbag. The colour is bright, so no problems finding it, the zip is chunky, so even with winter gloves on it can be opened and closed with ease. What is there not to like of a neat little purse such as this. I like organisation, and Kipling are good at organising our bags and travel goods. Sorted!
