5.0 out of 5 stars one-volume edition at a modest price
This is a sinlge-volume, unabridged, 1845 Beveridge translation of Calvin's seminal work. Many people might prefer the 1960 translation by Ford Lewis Battles, but this volume is very modestly priced so it is well worth buying.

2.0 out of 5 stars Limited value
I think it's fantastic that Calvin's Institutes is available on the Kindle, and at such an affordable price. It's affordable for a reason, though. The formatting isn't horrendous but it is unhelpful and pretty unprofessional. No indents make it hard to read, and notes are not hyperlinked. Chapters do not start on new pages

It probably would be the work of solid...

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading, 2 Feb. 2014

Every practising Christian should be familiar with at least the outline of Calvin's great work that has shaped so much of Christian theology since the Reformation. Having this huge work in a Kindle is very handy.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is a worthy book, 27 Oct. 2013

The English is a bit tortuous to modern eyes. It's an interesting read. He doesn't seem to give weight to the love of God for His created beings, though. A book to read when your brain is up to it.
