It is okay but room for improvement
on 26 May 2014
The problem I find with this book is its brevity (in some sections). In particular, Political parties is very short with little detail on up-to-date examples of the main parties' beliefs and ideologies. The Racial and Ethnic Politics section is also disappointing with very little detail on the topic altogether with almost nothing on Immigration Reform and Border control (which the examiners have asked about previously). Given that it is written (I believe) by one of the examiners, the whole specification should be reflected in the book. However, the election section, supreme court and governance of the USA are very good and reflect the imbalanced nature of the book. It is the most 'up-to-date' including the 2012 election (and probably one of a few books) that you can get for A2 Students but I do hope that such glaring omissions are included in the next edition if, going by previous history, won't be until 2016!
