Not enough detail.
on 5 June 2013
Unlike the other reviewers, I do not think this is the best source of revision for GCSE Geography.
Firstly, the book is short,140 pages, probably because it's a "revision guide". But I do not think it has enough info. on average each topic area only has 10 pages. This is not enough: specially the case studies because they are brief and do not include enough effects and responses for us to gain 8 marks in the exam.
Lets make it clear: this year's exam there's an 8-marker on issues of a reservoir. However with the info supplied by this book there just isn't enough points to comment about in order to score the full 8 marks. If you are doing the exams and not short of time, then I recommend buying other books with more detail.
Another thing I dislike about the book is their lack of organisation. Every page is chaotic and cramped full of diagrams and texts which is randomly placed and lacks any organisation. This just makes reading an eyesore and could be better if they organise the pages clearly.
My last point is that sometimes the information it gives are false. E.G the one child policy prevented 400 million births rather than the quoted 250 million. Compared to other books the understanding of the syllabus is rather...lacking.
Overall it's not a bad book. But I think it's far from best and do not worth 5*
