4.0 out of 5 stars Not for beginners
I've got this book from the library and am greatly enjoying reading it but it is definitely not a book that I would recommend for beginners. However, if you want a book to follow, say, the Cambridge Latin Course book 4 or 5, and bridge the gap between GCSE and A-level, this could be ideal. This review is from: Complete Latin: Teach Yourself (Paperback)
I've got this book from the library and am greatly enjoying reading it but it is definitely not a book that I would recommend for beginners. However, if you want a book to follow, say, the Cambridge Latin Course book 4 or 5, and bridge the gap between GCSE and A-level, this could be ideal. The author plunges straight into sentences drawn from a wide range of ancient sources so you have the satisfaction of reading 'real' Latin, but build up your skills and vocabulary on a graded school course first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive book for grammar and exercises, 19 Oct 2013

This review is from: Complete Latin: Teach Yourself (Paperback)
Before i started studying Latin again after many years i decided to look at Complete Latin - it is a great book but quite hard if you never studied it before. It 's great as a reference book and for extra practice but I suggest you start with a level that suits you then use it as support for further studies and learning grammar more in detail.
