This book is just about perfect. Super, useful designs, the book lays flat, the patterns are all in an envelope stuck to the inside back cover. Marvellous. Some of the designs are really innovative. I haven't yet made any of them but I will.
The diagrams and instructions look to be far easier to follow than some that I've seen. I happen to be an experienced sewer, but this book would be just as great for a beginner. It begins with easy bags, then works up to intermediate and finally the challenging bags.
Well done Ms Whitt.
Since writing the initial review I have made the Hobo ruffle bag. I have got to say that I did not find the instructions particularly clear on this. Things were all right until near the end where I attached the handle. This was an absolute nightmare. Having said that it is a lovely bag and my daughter is delighted with it.

Nice book with a variety of bags. I am following the instructions for the across the shoulder bag and this is the first bag I have made. The patterns are in the back of the book and full size, the instructions are clear and broken down into each step with good diagrams, there are also in-depth techniques with clear photos at the beginning of the book to refer to as you go along. I would recommend this book as I am new to sewing having recently bought a sewing machine and only tried very simple things so far.

From the moment I opened the book I fell in love with the designs, lots of variety. I haven't got round to making any of the bags yet, however the step by step instructions seem workable but I would suggest thata little sewing experience is required.

The lay out of the book is great, very modern and stylish and the spiral bound edge makes it very easy to read.

Looking forward to getting started but which one to do first!!

The book arrived within two days of ordering, has some lovely bags to make, it is an american book and you do have to read it carefully to fully understand instructions. Have started with the first bags in the book and am slowing making my way though, patterns are brilliant and full sized, on the whole a good buy!

This book has great illustrations to help complete the bags step by step. The descriptions are easy and clear. Some lovely ideas although in my textiles bag project with my year tens, none of them favored the bags that were within this book, and therefore could maybe do with a little adaptation to recent fashion trends.

The templates that come with it are scattered over 6 sheets of paper and so can become quite tedious finding the patterns that could need. The patterns did however give good instructions and how many of the needed to be cut.

A brilliant book, excellent instructions & patterns included, what more could you ask? It wouldn't be difficult to scale things up or down either if you wished. Fantastic ideas beautifully & clearly presented. Hitting the fabric stash as soon as possible. . . . .may even need to buy more! :-p
Biggest problem I am having is sourcing the bag components, eg handle rings (sometimes something a little fancier than a D ring is nice) & strap sliders. Is it easier in America or is it assumed we Brits just don't want to make these things?

This is a lovely book making bag, and includes clever foldaway shopping bags, and tips for possible variations. I made the diaper bag and found the instructions clear to follow. My one gripe is that you need to read through the instructions to see what pieces you need to cut, whereas other books neatly have this info at the start so you can prepare before you sew, and plan how to cut your fabric. Definitely worth the money.
