This book is well worth reading, especially if your aim is to write songs or set up a publishing company. The example of the various splits in royalties at the end of the book is really great as it breaks down and graphically illustrates royalty splits. I also like his no nonsense approach writing style. This is truly a good place to start if you know nothing and want to know something. I wish the same book could be from a UK perspective, however I am now reading The Art of Music Publishing by Helen Gammons - which is from a UK point of view.

Great book! Good for beginner... like me. Really simple and easy to understand. Many examples give me some clues to understand the whole music publishing simply... Somehow, this book should be improved in writing quality, a bit boring to read. Thanks to the author. exx
