A new Adventure for the Pokemon Adventures manga begins this one focusing on Pokemon Yellow.

The adventure begins two years after the events of the Ninth Pokemon League Tournament when Red receives a challenge telling him to come to Mt. Moon, soon after he vanishes and Pika arrives at the Oak lab badly beaten. Yellow, the kid that Red met before challenging the Viridian Gym, arrives at the lab and heads off with Pika to find him.

After that it rather quickly devolved into filler however we do get to see some interesting little bits such as Yellow Vs Lorelei and the Gym leader reuniting as well as the return of Blue and a flashback to an encounter he had with Agatha.

All in all not a bad start to the Yellow arc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic series, 28 Nov. 2012
This review is from: Pokemon Adventures 4 (Pokemon Adventures (Viz Media)) (Paperback)
I'd recommend this to any fan of the Pokémon franchise who want to get something a little more in depth and "adult" than the anime. Brilliant and ridiculously gripping storyline, excellent characters, and another way of looking at the Pokémon universe. They don't follow the anime though, which some people might not like. While the gym leaders are all still in there, and the Elite Four, the main characters are based on either characters from the game (Red, Blue etc), or are completely new additions like Yellow and Green.

Good prices on Amazon too; everywhere I've seen these on the high street they've been almost double the price.

I bought this as a present for my nephew who loves anything to do with Pokemon and he did not stop reading it as soon as he opened it. Although he is about to turn 13 he has a form of autism and these books have been an excellent choice for a mind which enjoys these sorts of stories. I would definately recommend this and the others available.

After being crowned the Pokémon League Champion, Red of Pallet Town has been regularly receiving challenges from trainers wishing to test their strength. After leaving to take on one such challenger however, Red is never seen again. Two years later with Red still missing his Pikachu manages to make it home alone and injured. Pikachu doesn't stay long though as soon he teams up with a mysterious young trainer with strange powers and they set off to find the missing Red.

This fourth volume of the `Pokémon Adventures' manga begins the Yellow story arc and it was at about this time that I began to really enjoy this series. As with some of the previous volumes, this fourth volume does have a few issues with poor translation but the plot of the volume itself is still quite interesting, as are the characters this volume introduces. The Pokémon Adventures' manga is a very entertaining series and from here on it only gets better.
