I loved this series. This is the third one of the series and Bastien (the hero in this book) is mentioned in all three but this is his story. To get the best out of the series I advise reading them in order. Bastien is a hot, sexy alpha male, definitely with a chip on his shoulder but that is not surprising as he believed the Immortal's killed his sister and brother-in-law and because of that he is bent on getting revenge. Bastien thinks he is a vampire until he learns that he is immortal but when he comes to fight with the immortals against the vampires he still feels like an outsider, The other immortals don't trust him.

Melanie is the doctor of the series, she is strong, determined and has always stood in defense of Bastien...she is infatuated by him which is not surprising since he oozes sex appeal. Bastien is drawn to Melanie and defends and protects her. This is a very good read, action packed, lots of humour and plenty of hot romance. Definitely worth recommending.

I am a huge fan of this series, I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R Ward and this is along those lines it has the great one liners and jokes between the main characters there is plenty of action and the story starts from the start so no reading five chapters before you can get into the book, there are three in the series so far and I would recommend reading them in order they are all great and you get a better sense of whats going on with all the characters and bits of their back storys, this was great Melaine is strong and goes after what she wants (Bastien) and Bastien is full of one liners and a hot alpha male with a chip on his shoulder (love that!)

Bastien first appeared in book one Darkness Dawns he always belived he was a vampire. and was bent on getting revenge against the Immortal's who he believed killed his sister and brother in law. He finds out that was not the case and is now working with the immortals that fight the vampires that have been infected by the virus that turns them into blood sucking loons! and a new unforeseen enemy.

Although Bastien is a immortal not a vampire he still feels like an outsider, the rest of the group dont trust him and still feel hate towards him for killing one of their own and his too proud to tell them he was defending himself not attacking their friend. His attitude leaves him constantly butting heads and comments with them and his pride wont let him be a full part of the group.

Melanie is one of the few people who has always liked Bastien. She in fact is infatuated with him (who wouldn't be hello hot sexy brooding Alpha man), and she constantly fights his corner and the corner of his two friends who turned themselves over when Bastien stayed for testing as they have the virus that will slowly turn them mad. as the team search for the baddie's who took Ami in book 2 they find out they have bigger problam's than they first thought, there are great fight scences that have loads of action and humour and a couple of lump in the throat moments its all here in one big booming book!

There are laugh out loud moments in this and all the books and some lovely bits of romance they really are a great read anyone who likes the Black Dagger boys or Lords of the underworld books will love these give book one a go you wont be let down!

I cant wait for book 4, and would love to see Seth get his girl but I have a feeling we will be waiting a while for his HEA, but whoever's book it is I for one can't wait full gold stars from me!

seriously my favourite so far! would give it 6 stars!

Bastien, the Immortal who wasn't from the previous two books returns for his tale. Dr Melanie looks after the vampires rescued in the first book. Following the death of Vincent by Bastien (at Vincent's request) Melanie sees Bastien in a different light. Bastien has feelings for Melanie, and when he touches her, he can feel her emotions, its his gift. so he knows how she feels about him, far sooner than she knows what he feels.

Bastien has a mouth on him, and uses it regularly, and with great effect, to wind the other Immortals up, and cause all manner of problems. Melanie is equally verbal, but mostly in her defense of Bastien. together they are awesome, simply AWESOME!!!

it didn't occur to me, til this book, how strong ALL the women in the leads are, and Melanie I found my favourite, strongest, funniest, and once she gets her claws into Bastien, the most loving.

I love that all the previous characters take part, and that the story is being laid for more than the fourth book I know is out. Etienne is up next, but there is something going on with Lisette and Tanner. Richart has his mysterious lady friend, Jenna. David, Seth and Zach (what ARE they, really???) all need someone, so hopefully, we'll get them too. OHHHHHHHHHHH said someones need not be female, either! another OHHHHHHHH love the thing with Ami!!

This is the third book in this series and it's just a good as the first. Couldn't put it down. I'm hoping there's a book 4/5/6, well at least a 4, there's so many questions. Who is Zach and the others who stand by and watch? What happens to Ami, Chris, Stuart and how and why is Seth and David different from the others????

I am already a big fan of this series. There is nothing about this book that I didn't absolutely love!! Great story, brilliantly written, depth of characters, pace & development of relationships, balance of action, tension, mystery and romance. In my opinion, it's got it all!
