This review is from: Master of Torment (Blood Sword Legacy) (Mass Market Paperback)
When Wolfson of Trevelyn is sent by William the Conqueror to capture and dispose of Tarian of Trent, little did he realise how much he would be attracted to her. Although he admires the Lady for her courage, quick mind and her skill with a sword and bow, he cannot be swayed from his mission.

Tarian, who was captured by her uncle by marriage is near deaths door when the handsome knight arrives, and is saved from the dungeon by him. She realises that Wolfson is a hard man and will not be swayed easily from William's command. She must use all of her strength and courage to persaude him from his course.

Both are unprepared for the passion they feel for each other and both have hard decisions to make. Wolfson find it increasingly hard to ignore his feelings for her. Will he defy his king for Tarian or will he destroy the only woman he has ever felt anything for?

This is a great book and I really enjoyed it. I have now read both books of the blood sword legacy and I have to say I liked this one even better than the first. The idea of a warrior princess giving the Blood brothers something to think about was intriguing. They certainly met their match with her not just with her skill but also with her mind. The next book will soon be available and I will certainly be buying it.

Wow again! after reading Master of Surrender i thought it could not get any better, but i have just finished reading Master of Torment and believe me it gets better! The second book in the knights series is about Wulfson and lady warrior Tarian, two strong characters that fight to the end. These 2 books for me, are the best historical romances(1066) that i have read for a long time. Cant wait for the next one in May.

This review is from: Master of Torment (Blood Sword Legacy) (Mass Market Paperback)
Having bought the first three of the Blood Sword Legacy and been slightly disappointed in the first book I wasn't particularly hopeful about this one which was a probably a good thing because I was therefore pleasantly surprised.

In this novel, Ms Tabke seems to have picked up her pace and produced a pair of much more rounded characters in the two protagonists. Both Wulfson and Tarian are very strong individuals but they're also likeable and little more interesting than the two from the previous novel. This comes through in the third novel as they both play a part in that also.

I found the action in this book much more gripping and the grittiness and earthiness with which Ms Tabke paints her scenery is much more visceral and emotive than the previous novel. It's perhaps more in keeping with the opening scene of the first novel set in the Iberian Jail. I found this much more engaging than the first book and the characters were more memorable hence their welcome appearance in the third novel. Whereas i've all but forgotten the names of the two from the first novel, Wulfson and Tarian are harder to forget as their story is by far the more 'believable' and fulfilling. I think this series is improving with each book as the next one is even better.....

I really enjoyed these set of books abd was sorry that the author has not carried on with the rest of the brothers stories as you get to know them throughout the books and feel they need their stories telling. Well worth buying but do them in order to understand the characters excellent
