My [...]son was learning about castles at school so I wanted to have a book which gave some back up to school but in a relaxed manor. The pictures are brightly coloured and nicely drawn for young children. The text and the story were quite simple but they got the main points across effectively. This book did catch the interest of my son who is not a "book" person. I would recommend this book.

'In the Castle' is a lovely book for young children. Clear bright pictures with a simple informative explanation of life in and around a castle. My three-year-old tear-away grandson loves this series of books and loves the Benji Davies illustrations. Lots of interesting things to look at and discuss. He similarly loves 'On the Moon' and 'On a Pirate Ship'. All the books in this series have solid, padded, hard covers and quality thick pages inside. We initially borrowed the books from the Library, but he loved these three titles so much I bought them. Bargain prices from Amazon and free postage to boot. Delivered within two days of the order being placed.

As a teacher, I chose this book to read to my preschool classes as an introduction to the theme of Kings and Queens. It is perfectly suited for their age and has all the right vocabulary. They thoroughly enjoyed it.

.....my mistake as bought for a 2 yr old. I thought like many usbourne books it was going to have thicker pages. Few words on the page, probably better for an older child learning to read.

Beautifully illustrated and well written, just the book for a budding 3 year olds birthday when he also received a castle.

As usual, also this product by Usborne hasn't failed expectations. Lovely illustrations for an informative snippet about life in a castle for the young ones. I think I'll be getting lots more from the series.

I bought this for a school project to use with 3-6 year olds. They loved the pictures.
It has great information for the children and the pictures lead to further discussions.

I purchased this book to go with a castle and wooden figures that I had bought for my grandsons for Christmas. It helped bring the toys to life. Beautifully illustrated
