I bought this book expecting a cut down version of the usually excellent DK travel guides.
However, this guide takes "pocket-sized" to a whole new level! The text is so small it is barely readable, and the content is very light, with very short descriptions of the places mentioned.
Amazon kindly exchanged for the Lonely Planet Edinburgh Encounter guide - much better.

TOP 100 REVIEWERon 29 March 2015
It should be borne in mind that these 'pocket guide and map' series are very small indeed - as such the 'guide' content is quite little. They're not much more than the pull out maps and guides that come in the cover of the new style 'top 10 guides'. They are extremely small and light - really tiny, enough to fit into the pocket of a tight pair of jeans. So if tiny size is your main criterion then this is a good bet. They are sturdy and the maps are good quality, and there is some basic information in here about the very main attractions. However, I would recommend buying a top 10 guide from the same publisher - they are still robust and highly portable, but have a lot more information. And the newer editions come with a separate map, along with basic information such as basic phrases and emergency numbers - that is smaller still than this guide. So you can read up on what you want to see in the hotel room, then leave the book behind and just take the map. The top 10 guides do cost a little more, but its negligible, so in my view you're best off taking that option.

Very helpful and the size is ideal for your pocket, it has a map as well, Edinburgh is worth a visit but you need a full weekend

Disappointing. Have used these books before. I ordered a book on Edinburgh A third of the book was about Glasgow.

Very little detail and a map you can get free from tourist information. Small enough to fit in pocket saves it.
