Firstly the good points:
1) the format of the guide - it's clear and easy to navigate, and
2) the attractive photography and layout.
Now the not so good:
1) At under 300 pages in total, 60+ pages devoted exclusively to Seville looks a little unbalanced (Granada gets 7 pages which includes the Alhambra) - okay, the clue is in the title, but still seems disproportionate.
2) The maps aren't great - e.g. on page 191 - there simply is no generally accessible road all along the coast around San Jose as the map shows.
3) Poor visitor information - e.g. page 205 - Cueva de los Letreros - not open daily! Okay, you can get up to date information on the cave's own website - but you don't always have good Internet access on holiday - and isn't that why you buy a guide book anyway?
.....And numerous other irritating errors and omissions (this is the worst Eyewitness guide we've purchased - others are far better).
High on gloss - but found lacking in content and accuracy.

This 288-page book - the January 2014 (13th) printed edition - is a colourful and informative guide to the Spanish region of Seville & Andalusia; for real visitors and armchair travellers alike. It has all the usual features, including excellent maps and diagrams. There are excellent colour photographs breaking up the text columns, so you can see what you are looking for. It is a handy up-to-date guidebook.

The Contents are -
P009: Introducing Seville & Andalusia
P063: Seville Area by Area (5 entries, plus a guided walk and a Street Finder; and a separate fold-up map tucked inside the back cover)
P123: Andalusia Area by Area (4 entries)

P211: Traveller’s Needs (where to stay; where to eat & drink; shopping, activities, etc.)
P253: Survival Guide (practical information; travel information, etc.)
P274: General Index
P287: Phrase Book

We chose this guide for a short break in Seville, Cordoba and Granada. Comprehensive information on all the sites visited.

we bought this for a short break to Seville. To be honest it wasn't the best guide ever with several key sights missing or given very low billing. We only found a couple of amazing sights thanks to some other Brits who were staying in our hotel. Might be fine for a trip to Andalusia but wouldn't recommend it for a Seville break.

It was good but a lot more shallow than the Michelin in terms of historical details

The maps in this guide book are good and there's a lot of information about art, history, art and other background detail. I could just have done with the map of Seville being all on one page instead of spread over two or three.

Excellent touring guide - good combination of photos, maps and info. Size is OK for carrying with you when walking and fitted my side pocket. If you can, scan through it before you go - it will help to understand how the different sections of the guide work and how the text relates to the maps. I've used DK before and this one didn't disappoint.

A great little guide, easy to keep handy with relevant information.
Downside I would say is that its mainly about Seville, though does give fairly good information on the other areas of Andalusia. Nicely illustration. It would be great to have maps in there of other main areas, like Granada, rather than just Seville, hence 4 stars.
