One of the best books I have ever read. Couldn't put it down. Have read all three of Khaled Hosseini's books and thoroughly enjoyed them all, but this was his best.

Could not put it down once I started reading the book. Thought provoking!!! Covers many life issues and how people feel. Also how it changes their lives and others.

Khaled Hosseini has done it again! A beautiful, moving story. As with his other books, Hosseini has reached out to the reader, enveloping them in this tragic story.

An enjoyable easy untroubling read. Some lyrical emotive writing, some lazy generic descriptions. No real surprises in my opinion. Trite ending, too neatly tied up.

Beautifully written. The author takes you on an emotional journey which progresses as the story and characters unfold. It is a story about people and relationships.

As ever, a gripping, heartwarming, sensitive and absorbing story. If you enjoyed the Kite Runner, you will enjoy this book.
A must read for all Hosseini fans.

I have read other titles by the author and I was really looking forward to reading this book. The story was slow and no where near as gripping as previous books...

Have read both of his previous books which I thought were excellent, but unfortunately this one did not hold my attention as the others did, a little disappointed.

Marvellous tapestry of lives told with exquisite prose. Even the tangential sequences were journeys worth taking. A wonderfully warm welcome into an unknown world.

Khaled Hosseini has transported the reader back in time to follow the journeys of the split family with great skill and understanding, a thoroughly memorable read.
