3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but not enthralling
Unlike some reviewers, I preferred the parts of the book describing the historical context of the painting of the fresco rather than the analysis of the actual work of art.

Ross King has written another art linked goody. I enjoyed listening to this on the radio and the read is even better. it is a good read even for people who are not into at or art history but enjoy a good story well told.

This is a long, well written and fascinating book about probably the worlds most famous and revered painter.
Due to it's length,I have not yet finished it,but am enjoying immensly the world of Rennaisance Italy with all it's corruption, intrigue, and religous wars, while learning also, more about the world of Di Vinci.
