I have used the Bond workbooks and practice papers with my children for many years and I am glad to say that the series now starts with the 5-6 age group (Year 1). This is one of two maths books in the series, the first being a workbook Bond No Nonsense Maths 5-6 years (Bond Assessment Papers) and the second being this book of twenty assessment test papers. This book covers all the maths they are expected to learn in this age group and the series will take you all the way through to the 11+ or Common Entrance 13+ exams. There are lots of practice in counting, money, shapes, etc., with answers included should you need them (at this age I am sure you will be fine, but heading towards the 11+ they will come in handy!). At the end of the book is a progress chart, so you can see how your child does as they work through the papers. These books are really excellent if you are working towards selective school exams or simply want to give some extra homework. In this age band there are also books in English - Bond No Nonsense English 5-6 Years (Bond Assessment Papers) and Bond Introductory Papers in English 5-6 Years (Bond Assessment Papers).

Have used this book (6-7) for my 6 year old and it is pitched just right. I feel this book is ok for the maths but understanding the questions for my just 5 year old is difficult, as she can not read all the words on her own. If I help her and read it then it is great. A good start to get her use to the style for the next level.

The best start in life is education and this does not get any better in preparing the kids for testing. Improving their ability to read and understand instructions outside of school. Necessary as a precursor to grammer school. Highly recommended.

In helping your child up their maths skills - look no further. We've tried many types, but Bond papers are the best to do.
They give you the answers, so no need to worry when coming to mark them. They also have a useful set of definitions in the front used in maths.

Brilliant book for 11+ preparation. I have used these books for all my 4 children and so far 3 of my kids have passed their 11+ and gone on to Grammar school. I cannot praise these books enough. Must be used for any 11+ prep work.

Highly recommended these bond books in all subjects, especially in preparation for the grammar school entrance exams for juniors. They have the answers in the centre for teacher/ parent. And a score chart on the back page . I think they also have a helpful web-sight too. They come in age groups too.

I found this very useful in consolidating my son's knowledge of maths.Varied papers consisting of 15 questions each make the papers manageable and not too long for 6 year olds to complete. A wide range of topics covered ie money, number sequence, geometry and time-telling.

It never fails. Bonds books are the best to train your child if you want to enter them into a grammar school. This is a great preparation for them and though quite hard but its brilliant

The exercises are very good would recommend this to parents as a little extra to do at home to work in conjunction with what they are learning in school.

Really helpfull book, I let my little one do a page or two a time. The exercises gently encourage to want to do a little more .
