I really think you shouldn't hesitate to buy this book if you want something different than the usual girl meets boy who happens to be a vampire or the likes. Instead, this book is filled with celtic magic, complex and wonderful characters and a hooking plot. The whole book has an intriguing feel and is written so you feel like you are right there with the gang as they travel on their journey. This is one of my favourite books and I cannot wait for the next installment. September is too far away!

Maggie Stiefvater has written the famous book 'shiver' and 'Linger' so I thought this book was a safe bet on the book being easy to get into the story and dramatic, although dramatic somehow it just did not click and the book was written in such a way just couldnt get into the story, lots of he says/she says with the characters, and even though the story was dramatic, just didn't become a page turner. Still think with this author many will love it but just not here sorry.

To enjoy this book, but I'm afraid I really can't even finish it. I've tried three or four times but I just can't get into it. I've read reviews from a lot of places and they are all positive, so it might be just a clash of personalities. For that reason alone I have chosen to give it three stars, because it may well be that I am not the target audience.
The story line from the blurb seems good but I found the text dense and extremely hard to follow.

I’m afraid I didn’t get on with this book, giving up within the first hundred pages. The action is split between Blue and the boys from nearby posh school Aglionby. I was much more interested in Blue, but her power (that of amplifying the powers of others) is insipid. The central mystery is steeped in Welsh folklore which was potentially interesting, but I found Gansey, Ronan, Adam and Noah so irritating it wasn’t enough to encourage me to read further.

Firstly, I would like to say I love MAGGIE! This book is different from her previous efforts, as it is written mostly in the 3rd person for a change. The story starts off rather vague but it starts to fall into place rather quickly, there is also an unexpected plot twist which meant I couldn't put it down, not giving anything away. I may be a little old for such novels (25) but I can never resist a Maggie, can't wait for the next in the series!

An amazingly written story, easy to follow. The relationship between Gansey and Blue, I hope it develops more even though it might end in Gansey's death. They seem better together rather than Adam, he just creeps me out. I'm really looking forward to the story behind and around Blue's father. What Ronan said at the very end, I didn't understand the meaning. But it was one of the best books I've read, can't wait to the next one.

OMG ! I love this book and can't wait to find out what next. I've read work by Maggie Stiefvater before and was drawn so far into her world I was lost to anything else until I'd finished the series.
This is no different and it has the same effect. The Raven boys is so much more than what I thought if would be.
Fans of Maggie's previous work will be transfixed. There are not enough stars to give this!! Read it!!

In a market overflowing with badly written YA fiction, it was so nice to read one that had substance. The characters that Maggie Stiefvater has crafted are rich and detailed without falling into cliches. Intriguing and with enough supernatural for my liking, the story has many layers and doesn't talk down to its audience. I look forward to the next book in the series.

The start was a bit slow and it took me a while to get interested in the storyline, but the further I got through the book, the more interesting it got. I ended up liking this book a lot more than I thought I would when I started reading it. I love all of the characters, I think they are all very likeable and interesting in their own ways.
