These are lovely stories; intelligently written and perfect for sharing with younger children. There is a sprinkling of challenging vocabulary, which to my mind is a plus point. I would also recommend the slightly larger format, as the beautiful and witty illustrations can then be shared easily with the children.

Purchase the set of three . They arrived quickly and are lovely books but disappointed that the one with two stories is a small reading book not a picture book.

We're big fans of the Lighthouse Keeper books and were hoping to introduce them to a young relative - but while this says it is 'Two classic stories in one book', it doesn't say 'Two heavily cut down stories in one small book which is nowhere near as good as the original versions'. It really should, because that's what it is. Back to the individual editions in future...

My son is in the first year at school and this book is part of his curriculum for the term so i ordered it so that we could talk about it at home and i'm so glad that i did! We have read the stories several times already and he has just started to discuss it at school but i know that he already knows and understands the story so will not have any problems with it! The stories themselves are brilliant and entertaining and i really enjoyed reading them with him!

Interesting stories, great pictures but a little too old for my grandson who is 3. I think this series of books would be good for children just learning to read.

Great stories - thought they would be good format for children to read themselves - except the book contains a spelling mistake!

A very good read. My 6 year old nephew read this in school and really enjoyed it. He now has his own copy which he loves
