I bought this book for my then 16 month old and it has turned into her favourite, she is now 21 months and we must have looked at it every day! There are so many pages with many colourful pictures and it has a few flaps thrown in aswell. We have often spent 30 minutes at a time reading this,, which is no mean feat for a toddler!! I can not recommend this book enough!
Fantastic book, daughter loved this from 12 months and still enjoys now at 3. Son now 20mths likes too. Great for language development as there are so many pictures and words you might not use day to day. Makes you realise how much your little ones understand when they point to the train, rabbit, cowboy etc
Hi, I'm spanish so excuse me for my english. I have an almost 3-year-old son and he loves this book. We read every word in spanish and then we translate it into english and he repetes it, which seems to amuse him a lot. He already knows "train" and "washing machine", but every days he asks us to read the words again.
My 18 month old daughter really loves Maisy after getting her first Maisy book for Christmas 08. I ordered maisy's amazing book of words a week ago and have read it with her cover to cover at least twice everyday, if not more! She loves it, pointing at all the different pictures and finding out what is behind each of the flaps. I would thoroughly recommend this book, the bright colours and huge range of words and pictures really keeps her interest.
A colourful practical book with plenty of existing & new words for children to learn. Great book to read words aloud and have your child point to the pictures or vice versa. It has assisted develop my 2 year olds speech and word recognition incredibly. I would recommend for any toddler. My 2year old recognises almmost every image/word in the book. My Daughter has many books but this one is always a favourite. It also keeps them occupied for much longer than any other books - but be warned its not one to go to bed with. You shall be there for hours.......
I bought this book for my 18month old son and I'm really happy with it, loads of page and so many objects to look at and name together, it keeps him entertained for ages and I'm sure it would also appeal to older children of 2, 2.5 years. Great illustrations and good to have the flaps on most pages too. The only issue with younger children is the pages are paper not card so they need to be careful not to tear it, especially the flaps. Other than that, a fantastic book for toddlers and good value for money.
Maisy's big book of words is bright and appealing to children. My son likes it very much. However, if you have some of the other Maisy books, you may notice that the pages are thinner and the flaps are therefore more delicate. My son is a little heavy handed so I found this a bit disappointing, but otherwise it is a good buy.
Our 16 month old enjoys turning pages so this book was perfect on a recent long plane journey. The pages are bright, with lift the flaps and simple first words. Sure this will become more useful for learning in the future. Only downside is that the flaps are a little flimsy.
My 18 month old son loves books and this is one of his firm favourites. It is a big and sturdy book with lots of pages and lots of pictures to hold his attention. He loves to point out different things in the book and it has really helped to bring on his words.
